Objective: Dr. Santiago and Advocate S. Louis have clearly explained the purpose of “Messengers of Peace” initiative; following are their messages in nutshell:
This to create solidarity among the members – so everyone should feel the extension of the family and start sharing family functions/events with members possible participations.
Reinforce Caps relationship, capuchin Friars are requested to help the members on liturgical activities.
The Goal is to add likeminded 100+ ex-Caps (with growth mindsets) before next meeting.
We will celebrate important functions like Oct 4th, Christmas. Pongal.
The likeminded members base will be utilized for the social cause in the due course.
Office Bearers:
Extended help to Province:
Based on the members willingness and benevolence:
Initially start adapting particular candidate/s and sponsor.
(Later based on the fund position) Provide financial/material help to Formation house/(es) – we can consider helping coordinated formation houses e.g. Novitiate
· One of the senior member of Messengers of Peace will help providing counseling to the wavering candidate to strengthen and stay back.
Obligation from Province:
Capuchin Friars have to give priority for the members and their families for conducting retreat/ Holy Mass.
Respective Province have to appoint appropriate Friar as Spiritual Director for Messengers of Peace community.
Assistance to Members:
If any member of the community is not able to sustain or survive independently – should reach out to office bearers. The financial or material help may be initiated based on the fund position and upon further legitimacy check.
Further Meetings:
Frequency: In person meeting on every 3 months once – all the members are requested to participate at least once in 6 months.
Pre-notification: The meeting schedule will be sent 15 days prior.
Next meeting is proposed for March/April during weekend- 15 days prior notice.
WhatsApp Etiquette:
Members are requested to post WhatsApp messages relevant to Messengers of Peace.
All the members are kindly requested not to post forward messages as this might dilute the important posts that are relevant to Messengers of Peace.
Members are requested to set WhatsApp profile picture with your photo for others to recognize and put a face to the messages you send.
Delegate Address: Fr. Herman explained in his final note that “brotherhood” in OFM Cap is what makes difference from other congregations – We all need to revive the Franciscan spirit. He wonderstruck with this humble beginning and blessed the group to grow leaps and bounds in coming days.
Process to introduce new members to Messengers of Peace:
We request you to initiate the communication with the likeminded companion
And pass on the contact to Mr. Ivan Cecil @ 98847 39909.
Ivan will coordinate, send relevant details individually about the objective of this group and onboard the respective member; this process will avoid cluttering WhatsApp traffic.
Data Collection for Directory and Accessibility:
We have created an email account as Messengersofpeacecaps@gmail.com; all repositories for Messengers of Peace, will be stored in this account.
Google form is created for collection data; we request all the members to submit your biodata in the following link: https://forms.gle/Kt7Wis2StuarQPdv7
We will create directory and publish for easy access and periodically the directory will be refreshed.
